ASIATIC LION

The lion is a large powerfully built cat. They are most active at night.
The Asiatic lion is a subspecies of the lion. It is now only in India, but has also been sighted occaisionally in Pakistan. They once ranged from Southeast Europe to India, covering most of Southwest Asia. It is also known as the Persian lion.
