ELEPHANT CALF
A baby elephant is called a calf and can weigh around 200 pounds when born and stand about three feet tall. They don’t see very well at first, but recognize their mothers by touch, scent and sound. They stay very close to their mothers for the first couple of months. They learn how to use their trunks for feeding, drinking and bathing and learn how to avoid dangers.
They live in savannas, grasslands, rainforests, scrub forests, deciduous forests, and more.
