FAWN
Fawns are baby deer and are only cared for by the mother, known as a doe. A doe generally has one or two fawns at a time. Most fawns are born with their fur covered with white spots, but in many species will lose these spots by the end of their first winter. In the first twenty minutes of a fawn's life, they will befin to take their first steps. The fawn stays hidden in the grass for one week until it is strong enough to walk with its mother, and will stay by her side for around a year.
Red deer are a native range which runs through much of Europe. Habitat preservation and hunting limitations have allowed the deer to spread into Russia, parts of the Middle East, and south into northern Africa.
